The FLAXX Chair is a hybrid design which offers the comfort of
a free-swinging chair as well as the functionality of a conventional
four-legged chair. The novel structure of the support frame
and the combination of advantages from both designs is a contemporary interpretation in both form and function. The seat
shell is made from natural fiber mats, which are molded into a
stable three-dimensional form by pressing multiple layers of the
material. The mats predominantly consist of flax, an annually

Lost in Translation

Domus Academy celebrated its 30th year with its ‘Lost in Translation’ exhibition where 80 products, designed by 50 large design firms and Domus Academy graduates, were exhibited. ‘Lost in Translation’ was opened to the public fromApril 18th to April 22nd, on the Domus Academy campus, during the Salone del Mobile week. The exhibition is divided into four sections; Lost in Production, Lost in Action, Lost in Identitiy and Lost in Materials. The exhibition will display pieces of furniture, lamps and tableware, including electronic goods and accessories, along with over 80 other products.

Istanbul DesignWeek is celebrating 400TH anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the Netherlands!

The “Politie – Polis – Caribi…” Project is being arranged as part of the celebrations of 400th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the Netherlands.

The goal of the project is to create the idea of a single visual identity for European police. To this end, Turkish and Dutch students are going to design a single police uniform and a police car to represent the whole European police.
